Ashlee Simpson’s son Bronx has a four-legged best friend named Alabama, Bam Bam for short. Gushing over how her 3-year-old and French bulldog have bonded, the singer shared  that while it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, the boy and his dog are inseparable these days.

“At first he was so excited, and then he was like, ‘Wait! She’s playing with my toys!’” Ashlee Simpson told People of Bronx’s reaction to meeting Bam Bam after her adoption in May. “Now he is so in love with her. It’s great.”

The 27-year-old, seen here carrying Bronx while strolling with Vincent Piazza in New York on July 25, added, ”She’s getting big. She’s the cutest thing in the world. She’s such a little lover.”
