Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting married! Word the parents of six are going to tie the knot broke Friday, complete with details about the ring he helped design.
Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop tells People “Brad had the vision” for the custom-cut engagement ring, estimated to be worth a pretty penny. An independent jeweler consulted on the diamonds set on a band of yellow gold told the magazine Angelina Jolie’s engagement ring is likely 10 carats total, with a price tag of $1 million.
Describing the design process a rep for the jeweler shared:
“Working closely with Brad Pitt to realize the star’s vision for the ring, Robert Procop was able to source a diamond of the finest quality which was then transformed using Pitt’s unique designs, cut with distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina’s long, slender fingers. Throughout, Brad Pitt remained heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design process from the perfect cut of the diamond centerpiece – an elongated tablet shape – to the finishing touches such as the mounting of a galaxy of smaller stones which are graduated in size and faceted to match, adding a crowning luster to the ring. The full creative journey – from conception to completion – took a year, with Brad Pitt waiting until the perfect moment to unveil this special jewel to Angelina Jolie.”
Brad and Angelina, a couple since 2005, have reportedly decided to marry now due to pressure from their kids. Along with confirming news of their engagement the actor’s manager added, “It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time.”
Those six children are: Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 3.
