Welcome to motherhood, Caterina Scorsone! The Private Practice actress gave birth to her first child at home in Los Angeles on July 6. A rep for the star has confirmed the happy news, adding that the baby girl’s name is Eliza.

“We couldn’t be more in love with her and are overflowing with gratitude for this beautiful miracle,” Caterina Scorsone and husband Rob Giles told People in a statement.

Fans of Private Practice may recall Dr. Amelia Shephard’s pregnancy occurred during the same time as Scorsone’s real life experience — though with a much happier ending to the story! The show is scheduled to return to ABC this fall.
