Ethan Hawke has an unusual take on being dad to a teenage daughter. While the stereotype may be for fathers to fear this period in their lives, this particular actor has embraced this time with Maya.

“I know she’s a miracle happening. It’s awesome,” Ethan Hawke said recently of 13-year-old Maya Ray, his daughter with ex-wife Uma Thurman.

“People always warn me that it’s going to be challenging having a teenage daughter, and the truth is it’s one of the most exciting things that’s ever happened to me,’’ the 41-year-old continued. “She’s a remarkable kid.’’

Ethan Hawke is also dad to 10-year-old son Levon from his marriage to Uma Thurman, as well as 3-year-old Clementine and 11-month-old Indiana with second wife Ryan.

Speaking of his average day, the actor shared, “My to-do list involves laundry and picking up kids from school. You know it’s all the ordinary things of life. The work stuff, I just try to let it happen and see where it takes me.”
