Giuliana Rancic had some sad news to report during her Today show interview this morning – she is in the early stages of breast cancer (video).

Those hoping to find out that Giuliana Rancic is pregnant after the season finale of her reality show, “Giuliana and Bill,” instead got a very different report.

Rancic explains how the breast cancer was detected – when they went for their third round of IVF, the doctor told her she needed a mammogram – she said she was too young at age 36.

She argued first against it, but did get it. She thought she had to wait until she was 40 and didn’t expect anything to be wrong.

Giuliana Rancic was diagnosed with breast cancer and noted, “It’s what you expect, but so much more,” adding it was “like the world just crashed down around me.”

She said “I couldn’t believe it” because she had no family history.

Of husband Bill Rancic she said, “He lets me cry when I want to cry” and believes that’s so important.

Giuliana advises that women “have to start putting themselves on the to do list” and take care of their health, sharing, “I will be okay because I found it early.”

Giuliana and Bill still plan to have a baby, with Rancic noting, “That baby will have saved my life,” as she believes that “God was looking out for me.”
