He’s only been a father for four days, but according to an inside source Eric Johnson is already the “best dad.”

“Eric is amazing,” an unnamed source told People. “He is involved with every single thing, and Maxwell adores him,” the source says. “Whenever she cries, he picks her up and holds her in his arms, and she immediately stops crying. It’s the cutest thing.”

The first-time father, who welcomed daughter Maxwell with fiancee Jessica Simpson on Tuesday, also gets high marks for supporting his lady love.

“He is the best dad already,” the source continued. “He is also super attentive and taking amazing care of Jess. It’s incredible.”
