If Matthew Morrison’s acting and singing gigs ever run dry the Glee star can always fall back on the family profession: midwifery! Once upon a time it was take your kids to work day, and young Matthew got quite an eyeful.

“My dad is a midwife,” the Glee and What to Expect actor told Celebuzz. “When I was a senior in high school, it was ‘take your kid to work day,’ and I actually delivered two babies myself. I was 18 years old. I went in there, my dad kind of told me what to do, I took the baby and my dad kind of swooped in.”

Should the 33-year-old welcome a child of his own one day, he’ll be perfectly capable of helping his partner through labor. Thanks to his father’s profession, Matthew Morrison knows more than the average gleeful guy on the street about birthing positions.

“I thought it was just sitting there and pushing out,” he shared. “But you can get on your hands and knees and let the gravity do the work.”

As for experiencing the birth of his own baby, Matthew Morrison hopes it’s in the cards. He confirmed, “I look forward to having kids one day.”
