Rumor has it Jessica Simpson is so freaked out by the idea of giving birth she has opted to schedule a c-section. A friend of the 31-year-old, currently expecting her first child with fiance Eric Johnson, has spilled the delivery plan beans to In Touch.

“The thought of going into labor scared the bejeezus out of her,” the unnamed source said of Jessica Simpson‘s pregnancy panic. “She was so anxious, she was even breaking into cold sweats at night.”

“Jessica has no tolerance for pain,” the friend admitted, adding that alternative pain-control options have already been explored. “She even turned to hypnotherapy to calm her fears about it, but nothing was working.”

After weeks of worrying about labor and delivery the mom-to-be ultimately has opted to schedule an elective c-section. “She desperately wanted to experience the joy of a natural birth, but decided to go with what made the most sense for her,” the friend said.

Luckily, there is one person Jessica Simpson can rely on to be there when baby is born. “Eric is a calming force for Jessica,” the source gushed of the couple. “Eric is so excited about the birth!”
