Rosie Pope On Fear of Labor Versus Reality

Rosie Pope has been through labor and delivery three times herself. That personal experience, as well as having coached numerous nervous pregnant women through the process in her Pregnant in Heels role, has led the reality star to believe the fear of labor is far worse than the actual experience!

“They’ve heard all the old wives’ tales and heard women tell their war stories, and they’re completely freaked out,” Rosie Pope explained of what she commonly encounters when meeting first-time moms-to-be.

She continued, “In my experience, their fear of what’s going to happen is actually far worse than what labor is actually like.”

One of Rosie Pope’s tricks to helping ease fears, is sitting through a birth video alongside a pregnant client, encouraging them to watch and breathe calmly through the viewing.

“No matter how afraid you are…when you go into labor, something kicks in,” Rosie Pope, mother of three, reassures clients. “You know instinctively what you have to do.”

Having that first baby isn’t usually the terrifying part. Generally it kicks in 24-48 hours later when you realize that it’s time to take Baby home and you are now solely responsible for its safety and well-being. That’s scary!
