Sarah Palin: Five Generations Help in Raising Five Kids

Sarah Palin not only holds the title of 2008 Vice Presidential nominee, she’s Mom and Grandma! The 48-year-old mother of Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig recently spoke with mom blogger Breezy Mama, offering her number one bit of parenting advice.

“Enjoy every single moment. It sounds cliché but it’s so true that they grow up so quickly,” Sarah Palin shared.

“Our oldest is 23 – he is deployed in Afghanistan right now, a 21 year old, 17 year old, 11 year old and 4 year old. So we have the benefit of being able to experience with our little ones, anew… fresh… knowing… a lot of what they will be going through… in their older years, so we so appreciate every day of the young childhood years because we know it goes so quickly. But every stage is wonderful, enjoyable. And it may seem like a lot of work right now, but… it’s worth it!”

Boasting one positive aspect of the Palin family, the grandmother of Bristol Plain’s son Tripp, went on to say, “They help out so well. We are very, very blessed to have a very large and supportive family, especially with the older siblings helping out with the little ones. We have five generations out there in Alaska, family members helping out.”

As for her teenagers, Sarah Palin said, “It’s exciting and teenagers keep you young… keep you plugged in to what’s going on in our culture – literally. I can’t even pick a favorite stage or year of the kid’s lives. It’s all been amazing and enjoyable.”
